Wings of Fire

appoppanthaadi

The me that you see, is not the me that I am

The me that I am, you’ll never get to see

The me that you see, is full of fears and apprehensions

Forced to wear a mask

Compelled to sit back

Abstained from my own choice

Refrained from mumbling

Mandated to be silent

The me that you see, you might welcome

For I am harmless

For I won’t strike back

For I have no voice

For I fear of loosing you

And my dear friend, you never saw the pain in my eyes

A puppet I chose to be

For I wish to see the you that you are

The me that I am is a free bird

Free from all fears,

Free from all worries

Free from all expectations

No complaints

No regrets

I sleep without dreams

For I live in my dreams

The me that I am, you might fear

For I have my own voice

And I’ll fight for myself

I fly with wings of fire

They might blaze your words that sting

They might burn your deeds that hurt

I fear the moment the me that I am oozes out

And the me that you see might burst into flames

The me that I am, doesn’t care about what you think of me

Neither fear, nor panic, nor agony

The me that I am ain’t afraid of loosing you anymore

Coz for once I know I am my own truest friend and confidante

  1. I think almost everybody will relate to this poem. No matter how simple we are, still there is a part of us which only we know the best. The lines where you have written sleeping without dreams but living in it are best. Concluding lines are awesome. A beautiful read.
